Live Auction for a U.S. Flag Flown in Baghdad
Own a Piece of History!

One of the highlights of the Monday evening social event will be a live auction for a display-quality US flag that was flown at the former Royal Palace of King Feisal II, where Saddam Hussein subsequently lived prior to Desert Storm. The building is currently the headquarters for the Gulf Region Division of the US Army Corps of Engineers. This flag was flown in observance of Flag Day on June 14th, and was also flown at half-staff in mid-June in observance of former President Ronald Reagan’s funeral.

The live auction for this flag will take place from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, November 8, 2004, during our evening social event at the Lindell Pavilion in Forest Park. Bids will be accepted only during that time period, and the winner will be announced at the conclusion of the evening’s festivities.

The successful bidder will receive this 4’ x 6’ flag made from woven heavy cotton fabric with rich vibrant colors. This flag has sewn stripes and embroidered stars, and is the most attractive type of flag for indoor display. It is not designed for use outdoors. Also accompanying the flag will be a display case as well as a Certificate of Authenticity from the US Army Corps of Engineers.

Proceeds from the auction will go the SAME St. Louis and Scott Field Posts’ Scholarship Funds.

Please plan on participating in this unique event!
