Investiture Ceremony

The Society of American Military Enginers established the Academy of Fellows in 1995. Prior to 1995, the designation of Fellow was bestowed on selected members of The Society who had distinguished themselves through service to The Society and the national defense. The formation of the Academy of Fellows provided a new forum to foster mentoring of SAME's Young Members, those age 35 and younger.

Each fall, new Fellows are welcomed in an Investiture Ceremony that is held in conjunction with the fall Board of Direction meeting.The Academy now numbers more than 800 Fellows.

1:30 p.m. Buses leave for Fellows Investiture site - Future Fellows only
2:00 p.m. Buses leave for Fellows Investiture site - Guests
2:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. - Fellows Rehearsal in Des Lee Auditorium
3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. - Fellows Investiture Ceremony
4:30 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. - Fellows Group Photo
5:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - Buses leave for hotel for Gala Evening Event, Crystal Ballroom

All Fellows and their guests are invited to attend at no cost. This includes the Gala Evening Event (reception) for the Fellows and one guest. The cost for additional guests or for those who want to attend the reception only (unregistered individuals) is $55.
